Senior Member Location: New Zealand | It is hard to say what the problem is likely to be without more information. Many Windows 7 drivers have issues on Windows 8/8.1 which means they will most likely have problems on Windows 10. That's why it is worth checking your current drivers before attempting the upgrade from Windows 7. I normally assemble all the driver files before upgrading any operating system. If I can't find the correct drivers online then it is a warning that the upgrade may not work or if I have problems that it will be difficult to get support and resolve. If I can download the correct drivers then I can a) check to see whether they have worked for other users and b) try to resolve any problems even if I don't have network access. As a matter of course, I save the driver package for every driver that I install myself. I usually edit the name to include the version number and any warning about problems it had. If the driver doesn't work then I keep the driver package so that I can compare it with any other driver packages that I find. Sometimes the computer manufacturer will use the same driver as the OEM but with a different version number. These are the sort of questions I would ask: Is that driver supported under Windows 10 or even Windows 8.1/8? Normally, you'd check the computer manufacturer's (e.g. HP) website first and only go to the OEM's (original equipment manufacturer e.g. Intel) website as a last resort because generic drivers often don't have specific tweaks made by the computer manufacturer. What is the make and model of your computer? What is the make and model of network adapter?Did the LAN adapter come with the computer or is it a third-party add-on? How do you know the the driver is up to date? What tells you this: the download site, Windows Update, another update program, or what?
